Baseball Game Preview: Winter Springs Bears vs. Lake Brantley Patriots

The Winter Springs Bears will square off against the Lake Brantley Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Winter Springs will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Friday, it was close, but Winter Springs sidestepped Lake Howell for a 2-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Lake Brantley didn't have quite enough to beat Winter Park on Monday and fell 6-5. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maurice Brown and Justus Mike did some serious damage despite the final result: Brown got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one double, while Mike scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Bryce Mauger was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Winter Springs' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Brantley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7-1.

Everything went Winter Springs' way against Lake Brantley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Winter Springs made off with an 8-2 win. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
