Volleyball Recap: Centennial Huskies vs. Horizon Huskies
If Centennial was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Santiago on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Centennial fell just short of Horizon by a score of 2-1 on Friday.
Centennial actually scored more points across those three sets (59-55), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 15-25, 15-12.
Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Mckenna Giles, who had 14 digs and four assists. Ayva Curry also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.
Among those leading the charge was Isabelle (Isa) Mcilroy, who had 12 digs and one assist.
Centennial's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9. As for Horizon, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Coincidentally, Centennial and Horizon will both be playing Bishop Gorman the next time they take the court. Centennial will head out to face Bishop Gorman at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, while Horizon will play them later in the day, at 5:15 p.m.
