Harlingen South had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  13-2 margin over the Pace Vikings. Considering the Hawks have won four contests by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Josh Ruiz was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. That's the first time  he hasn't allowed a single  hit since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. What's more,  he posted two  doubles, the most he's  had since back in February of 2024.
 In other pitching news,  Richard Pizano looked comfortable as he  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run any time he's  pitched this season.
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Noah Perez, who  scored three  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 2-for-3.  Juan Vasquez also deserves some recognition as  he  got his first  hits of the season.
 Harlingen South  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pace only posted  an  OBP of  .318.
Harlingen South's victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pace,  they are  on  a  34-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
 Harlingen South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  12-2  win against Hanna on the 8th. As for Pace, they will take on Edcouch-Elsa at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Pace is facing Edcouch-Elsa at the right time seeing as Edcouch-Elsa is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
