Soccer Game Preview: Madisonville vs. Diboll

The Madisonville Mustangs will challenge the Diboll Lumberjacks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Madisonville will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Madisonville's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They skirted past Westwood 1-0. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Panthers are ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Diboll's offense. They came up short against Palestine on Wednesday, falling 8-0.

Madisonville's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six matches. As for Diboll, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Madisonville beat Diboll by a goal when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 3-2. Does Madisonville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Diboll turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
