Softball Game Preview: Gateway Regional Gators vs. Lindenwold Lions

Gateway Regional is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Lindenwold a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Gateway Regional Gators will look to defend their home field against the Lindenwold Lions at 10:00 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gateway Regional couldn't beat Pennsauken on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Gators came up short against the Indians, falling 18-9.

Brooke Ream was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Worthington, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lindenwold's offense. They lost 17-0 to Collingswood last Wednesday.

Lindenwold's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gateway Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Gateway Regional took their win against Lindenwold when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 18-1 score. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
