Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gunderson). They really took it to the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-20 victory at home. The Grizzlies pushed the score to 55-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Aztec Warriors had no chance of recovering from.

It was another big night for Jason Stoner, who rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 155 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Greg Darling did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Gunderson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yerba Buena only rushed for 100.

One reason for the win was Gunderson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Miguel Acosta with two. Gunderson is undefeated when Acosta posts one or more sacks, but 1-3 otherwise.

Despite the loss, Yerba Buena still got an impressive performance from Elijah Duncan, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

The win was the fourth in a row for Gunderson, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. As for Yerba Buena, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Gunderson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-13 victory against Evergreen Valley on the 18th. Yerba Buena has also already played their next match, a 41-16 win against James Lick on the 17th.
