Volleyball Game Preview: Mililani Trojans vs. 'Iolani Raiders

Mililani hasn't had much luck against 'Iolani recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will challenge the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mililani is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Konawaena 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Kadence Wilson went supernova, getting 29 digs and one assist. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylyn Kaopuiki-Kaikaina, who had 15 digs and six kills.

Meanwhile, 'Iolani faced Kamehameha Kapalama in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. The Raiders put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mililani's record is now 16-14. As for 'Iolani, their record now sits at 22-7.

Mililani suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to 'Iolani in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
