Basketball Game Preview: Monterey Dores vs. Alisal Trojans

The Monterey Dores will take on the Alisal Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alisal took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Monterey, who comes in off a win.

Monterey is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Salinas 87-21 on Wednesday. The Dores have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Alisal unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pacific Grove. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Breakers 11-7 in the first quarter.

Monterey has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Alisal, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.

Monterey skirted past Alisal 46-44 when the teams last played on January 13th. Does Monterey have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alisal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
