Football Recap: West Carroll Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, West Carroll couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville Ponies on Saturday, falling 38-14. The matchup marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for George Bailey, who rushed for 209 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.5 yards per carry for South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville. Bailey is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Brodey Vanhooser, who rushed for 53 yards.

West Carroll moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

West Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville, they will challenge Polo on Friday. The Ponies will need to watch out since the Marcos have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.
