Basketball Recap: West Ashley Wildcats vs. Summerville Green Wave

It was a good run, but the West Ashley Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 65-43 defeat at the hands of Summerville. West Ashley has struggled against the Green Wave recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why West Ashley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lavelle Minus. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maddox Clyburn, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.

West Ashley's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8. As for Summerville, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Ashley will take on the Patriots at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Fort Dorchester is ranked 67th, while the Wildcats are ranked 46th). As for Summerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Swamp Foxes at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ashley Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Tuesday.
