Basketball Recap: Friona Takes a Loss

Friona lost against Idalou back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Chieftans took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 81-20. The contest marked the Chieftans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Friona's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Idalou, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Friona and Idalou will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Chieftans see the court they'll take on Littlefield at 12:15 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Idalou, their break will end when they face Dimmitt at 12:15 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
