Soccer Recap: Canyon Lake Comes Up Short

On Friday, Canyon Lake didn't have quite enough to beat the San Antonio Christian Lions and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Canyon Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 604th, while San Antonio Christian is ranked 289th).

Diego Fuentes wasn't going to let San Antonio Christian walk away unscathed as he scored both of Canyon Lake's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

Canyon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for San Antonio Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon Lake will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fredericksburg at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. San Antonio Christian has already played their next contest (against St. Joseph), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
