Baseball Game Preview: Norristown Eagles vs. Pottstown Trojans

The Norristown Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Pottstown Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Norristown and 20 for Pottstown dating back to last season.

Norristown came up short against Bensalem on Saturday, falling 18-6.

Matt Leary and Pete VanDyne did some serious damage despite the final result: Leary went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while VanDyne went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave VanDyne a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Norristown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Pottstown fell victim to Pope John Paul II and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to Pope John Paul II.

Norristown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pottstown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Norristown's way against Pottstown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Norristown made off with a 19-7 win. Does Norristown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pottstown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
