Softball Recap: Springville Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Springville came out on top against Crimson Cliffs on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Red Devils never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Allyx Haveron's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addi Crandall was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Sami DeLlamas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Springville and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Crimson Cliffs, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

The future could be bright for both Springville and Crimson Cliffs: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Red Devils will look to extend Snow Canyon's five-game losing streak when they meet at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs will try to hand Hurricane their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
