Pine Bluffs is 9-1 against Burns since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pine Bluffs Hornets will square off against the Burns Broncs at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pine Bluffs is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Lingle-Fort Laramie on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Pine Bluffs lost 56-36 to Lingle-Fort Laramie. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 77-32 loss at the hands of Douglas. While losing is never fun, the Broncs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Bearcats are ranked seventh).

Pine Bluffs' defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Burns, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Everything went Pine Bluffs' way against Burns when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Pine Bluffs made off with a 54-29 win. Will Pine Bluffs repeat their success, or does Burns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
