Basketball Game Preview: Arcadia Hornets vs. Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers

Arcadia and Jonesboro-Hodge are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The two teams will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Arcadia will be strutting in after a win while Jonesboro-Hodge will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Arcadia got the win against Gibsland-Coleman by a conclusive 54-31. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Jonesboro-Hodge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 49-11 loss at the hands of Neville. While losing is never fun, Jonesboro-Hodge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Neville is ranked 39th).

Jonesboro-Hodge's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Arcadia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Everything came up roses for Arcadia against Jonesboro-Hodge in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the team secured a 60-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arcadia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
