Softball Recap: Bloomfield Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Bloomfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils on Friday as they made off with an 8-1 win. The Bombers haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ashlyn Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks.

On the hitting side, Sydney Falsone was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brianna Leitten, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Mynderse Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Bloomfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
