Basketball Recap: Jaworski Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hamilton County over Union County

Hamilton County lost against Union County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans fell 71-62 to the Fightin' Tigers. The loss was the Trojans' first of the season.

Hamilton County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaworski Williams, who posted 16 points. Williams is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jakori Johnson, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points and four steals.

Union County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garrison Smith led the charge by shooting 45% from the field en route to 12 points along with seven assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrese Chandler, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hamilton County fell to 3-1. As for Union County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Hamilton County and Union County will both be playing Fort White the next time they take the court. The Trojans will host the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Fightin' Tigers will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
