Football Recap: Nate Stokes Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

After losing to Mount de Sales Academy the last time they met, Calvary Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Knights were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over the Cavaliers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Calvary Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Stokes, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 72 rushing yards gave Stokes a new career-high. Braxton Wilkinson was another key signal caller, throwing for 178 yards and one touchdown.

Calvary Christian's record now sits at 2-0. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian will challenge Tattnall Square Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will square off against Terrell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
