It was a good run, but Galena unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Scales Mound Hornets. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

While Galena was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15.
