Volleyball Game Preview: Norco Cougars vs. Roosevelt Mustangs

The Norco Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Roosevelt Mustangs at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Monday. Norco fell just short of Rancho Cucamonga by a score of 3-2.

Norco took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-28, 22-25, 25-21, 15-9.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Roosevelt sidestepped Centennial for a 3-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won nine in a row.

Roosevelt wouldn't go down easily and took Centennial into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 15-8.

Norco better keep an eye on Max Lopez. He was instrumental in Roosevelt's win, getting 13 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Lopez has posted since back in April of 2024.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Norco, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Norco couldn't quite get it done against Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lopez, who had 39 digs and one assist. Now that Norco knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
