Basketball Game Preview: McCormick Chiefs vs. Saluda Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the McCormick Chiefs will get right back to it and host the Saluda Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Saluda is hoping to do what South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to McCormick's winning streak, which now stands at three games. McCormick really took it to South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-22 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-11.

While Saluda didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Ware Shoals 64-30 last Monday.

McCormick is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Saluda, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

McCormick was able to grind out a solid victory over Saluda when the teams last played last Saturday, winning 55-47. Does McCormick have another victory up their sleeve, or will Saluda turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
