Baseball Recap: Central Valley Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Central Valley pushed their score to three the last time they played Beyer, but on Tuesday they couldn't quite do it again. The Central Valley Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Beyer Patriots, sneaking past 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three matches in a row.

Caden Mendonca made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Whitworth, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Dominguez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Central Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beyer only posted an OBP of .250.

Central Valley's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
