Softball Game Preview: King's Christian Knights vs. Calvary Academy Warrior

King's Christian hasn't had much luck against Calvary Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Warrior at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, King's Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Atlantic Christian and fell 5-4.

Ava Garcia was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lillian Logan, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Calvary Academy hadn't done well against The Pilgrim Academy recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warrior were the clear victors by a 24-6 margin over the Pioneers.

Zoe Troy was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. Tori DiChiara was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Calvary Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Pilgrim Academy only posted an OBP of .400.

King's Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Calvary Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

King's Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Calvary Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
