Softball Recap: Delphi Community Sets Scoring Season-High Against Taylor

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delphi Community). They blew past the Taylor Titans 21-1 on Thursday. The Oracles haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Peyten Rice made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Rice was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jenna Roth was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abie Pearson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Delphi Community kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taylor only managed six hits.

The win got Delphi Community back to even at 10-10. As for Taylor, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Coming up, Delphi Community will host Lewis Cass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Taylor, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Eastbrook at 5:30 p.m. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
