Softball Recap: Caston Comets vs. LaVille Lancers

Caston got themselves on the board against LaVille on Monday, but LaVille never followed suit. Everything went their way against the LaVille Lancers as they made off with a 16-0 victory. Caston might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Natalie Warner and Addison Zimpleman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Warner pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Zimpleman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Warner scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Zimpleman scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Caston got a massive performance out of Kylee Logan, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Harsh, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Caston and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for LaVille, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caston will take on Winamac at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caston is on a three-game streak of home wins, Winamac a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. LaVille will take on Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
