Baseball Recap: Taylorsville Comes Up Short

Taylorsville and West Union squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Taylorsville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tartars have suffered since February 28th.

Trey Barnes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Taylorsville's loss dropped their record down to 21-12. As for West Union, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-13 record this season.

While Taylorsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
