Soccer Game Preview: Stevens Point vs. Wausau West

The Stevens Point Panthers will head out to take on the Wausau West Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wausau West took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Stevens Point, who comes in off a win.

Stevens Point headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Wausau East let them put that streak behind them. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lumberjacks with a sharp 5-2 win on Thursday. It was an even better day for Sivan Dinga as he scored four goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Wausau West came up short against D.C. Everest on Thursday, falling 7-2. While losing is never fun, Wausau West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 198th, while D.C. Everest are ranked 19th).

Wausau West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-1. As for Stevens Point, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2-5.

Stevens Point took their win against Wausau West in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
