Baseball Game Preview: Bentworth Bearcats vs. Fort Cherry Rangers

For the second straight game, Bentworth will face off against Fort Cherry. The Bearcats are taking a road trip to take on the Rangers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bentworth has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bentworth's offense. They came up short against Fort Cherry on Tuesday, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Rangers: they've now lost five in a row.

For Fort Cherry's part, not much got past Colton Temple, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Bentworth off the board.

On the hitting side, Ben Demascal was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nathan Wolfe, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fort Cherry's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Bentworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
