Softball Recap: Paramus Catholic Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Immaculate Heart Academy, Paramus Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Paramus Spartans by a score of 8-3. The Knght Paladins haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Brinley Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Paramus Catholic let Dilynn Jeffries-El and Jami West run wild. Jeffries-El got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while West went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was McKenna Henderson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Paramus Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.

Paramus Catholic's win bumped their record up to 15-4-1. As for Paramus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paramus Catholic will take on Donovan Catholic on Friday. As for Paramus, they will host Ridgewood at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
