Softball Recap: Western Reserve Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Western Reserve Academy had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 13-3 to the Lake Catholic Cougars. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lake Catholic's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Reserve Academy will welcome Streetsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Beaumont School at 4:30 p.m. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
