Baseball Recap: Andrews Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Union County, Andrews was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Murphy Bulldogs 8-7. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 17-6 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Ethan Sutton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Shular, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

With the win, Andrews broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9. As for Murphy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Murphy will welcome Towns County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Andrews will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' matchup: after the Bulldogs faces off against the Indians, they'll take on Andrews again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
