Football Recap: Englewood Takes a Loss

Englewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 27-0 loss at the hands of the Yulee Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Hornets are ranked 105th).

Among those leading the charge was Brooke Reid, who threw for 78 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of her passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Englewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Yulee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Englewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yulee, they will square off against Hilliard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hornets 6.5, the Red Flashes 13) so any points scored will be well earned.
