Baseball Recap: Southeast Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Southeast dropped their record down to 13-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LaBrae Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in April.

As for LaBrae, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For LaBrae's part, Austin Rowe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Rowe is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 11-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landon Brunstetter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast will square off against Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for LaBrae, they will take on Mogadore at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
