Softball Recap: Chuckey-Doak Takes a Loss

Chuckey-Doak came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 20-7 to the West Greene Buffaloes. The Black Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buffaloes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hayleigh Seidl was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Saniah Atchison, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Chuckey-Doak's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Greene, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chuckey-Doak will take on Happy Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Greene, they will square off against Cosby at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. West Greene is facing Cosby at the right time seeing as Cosby is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
