Basketball Recap: Kenston Forest Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Graham Sledd and Dayton Williams

Kenston Forest lost against Banner Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kenston Forest Kavaliers took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Banner Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Kavaliers still had to take the loss.

Kenston Forest's loss came despite strong showings from Dayton Williams and Graham Sledd. Williams posted 18 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds, while Sledd went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Williams' evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Will Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Kenston Forest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Kenston Forest moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Banner Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-8.

Kenston Forest has already played their next contest (against Nottoway), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Banner Christian has already played their next game, an 80-45 loss against Steward on the 3rd.
