University came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Saint Mary's Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While University might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Saint Mary's scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Saint Mary's saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lucia Parsons had eight digs and two assists.

University's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Saint Mary's, they moved to 19-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Coming up, University will host Marin Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Saint Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
