There's no place like home for Dieterich, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cumberland Pirates 2-1 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Movin Maroons as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Dieterich had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 25-13.

Dieterich's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Cumberland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12-1.

Looking ahead, Dieterich will take on Teutopolis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cumberland, they will face off against Arcola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
