Owen Ernle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 19 Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because St. Augustine Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Patrick Manriquez, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Gus Alcantar, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tombstone has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like St. Augustine Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tombstone took their win against St. Augustine Catholic when the teams last played on March 6th by a conclusive 16-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tombstone since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
