Clio scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Brandon Blackhawks. The Mustangs gained 239 more yards on the day, but it was the Blackhawks that made the best use of them.

When it comes to explaining why Clio lost, don't look at D'Marion Erlenbeck. Despite the final result, he rushed for 172 yards and four scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 120 yards and three TDs. Another player making a difference was Jayden Kohn, who gained 101 total yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Clio and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Brandon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Clio wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 44-35 defeat against Lake Fenton on the 10th. As for Brandon, they have also already played their next contest, a 34-22 loss against Owosso on the 10th.
