Softball Recap: Vicksburg Takes a Loss

Vicksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Loyd Star Hornets. If the Gators were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Avery VanNorman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Shandrea Lockridge was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Vicksburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Loyd Star, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Vicksburg has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 defeat against Neshoba Central on the 3rd. As for Loyd Star, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-5 loss against West Marion on the 1st.
