Softball Game Preview: Bullis Bulldogs vs. Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers

The Bullis Bulldogs will square off against the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Bullis had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Georgetown Day last Tuesday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Mighty Hoppers with a sharp 16-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

For Georgetown Day's part, Ellie Snyder stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Snyder is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Snyder, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Georgetown Day pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Bullis, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
