Independence posted their closest win since September 16th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
St. Mary's-Colgan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Izzy Tierney, who had 17 assists, and Raigen Crager, who had ten digs. Tierney is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Leah Schibi also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Independence now has a winning record of 9-8-5. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Coincidentally, Independence and St. Mary's-Colgan will both be playing Neodesha the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Blue Streaks at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
