Baseball Recap: Cheatham County Central Cubs vs. Harpeth Indians

Cheatham County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 14-5 to the Harpeth Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 last Monday.

Clinton Canada was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run.

Canada wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Parker Bender, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Bender also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Cheatham County Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Harpeth, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
