Kent Denver extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 10-10 in the process. They came up short against the Peak to Peak Pumas, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pumas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in April.
Joseph Covell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
As for Peak to Peak, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.
On Peak to Peak's side, Cooper Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Campbell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Peak to Peak is 5-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Campbell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Dane Hirt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Peak to Peak is 6-2 when Hirt posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Drew Kraft was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
