Volleyball Recap: Pompano Beach's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Pompano Beach and Archbishop McCarthy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Pompano Beach had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

While Pompano Beach ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18.

Pompano Beach moved to 11-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season.

Pompano Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they will face off against Suncoast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight.
