Volleyball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Memorial

Memorial put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Western Reserve Blue Devils 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Memorial was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16, 25-19.

Memorial found their leader in freshman Kayla Coriano, who had 12 digs and one assist. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Coriano. Gabby Santos also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Memorial was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 24 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Western Reserve, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Memorial has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Jackson-Milton on the 4th. As for Western Reserve, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Lowellville on the 4th.
