Baseball Game Preview: Okawville Rockets vs. Dupo Tigers

The Okawville Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Dupo Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Okawville's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Okawville lost 12-2 to Valmeyer on Wednesday.

Braylen Turner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Grant Moody, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Dupo and Red Bud had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers came up short against the Musketeers on Tuesday, falling 16-2. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Okawville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dupo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Okawville took their win against Dupo when the teams last played back in June of 2021 by a conclusive 11-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
