Volleyball Recap: Nokomis' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Nokomis had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Shelbyville Rams. The Redskins were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Rams, so the Redskins were just returning the favor.

Nokomis not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Shelbyville between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16.

Leading Nokomis to victory were Maddison Dewerff and Grace King. Dewerff had seven digs and one assist, while King had seven digs and two assists. Those two assists gave King a new career-high.

Nokomis' record now sits at 4-0. As for Shelbyville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nokomis will be taking part in a tournament against Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 9:20 a.m. on Saturday. As for Shelbyville, they will venture away from home to square off against Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
