While Eustis's victory against South Sumter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Raiders 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

Carson Roden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emmy Luke, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Covino, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Eustis' record is now 3-1. As for South Sumter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eustis will face off against Crystal River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Sumter, they will take on The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
